Misty Christian started this petition to Nashua NH Board of Education and

On 5/4/2020 The Nashua Board of Education chose to not hear the cries of the parents of their district, and to devalue the work of their teachers and voted to continue remote learning through 6/15/2020, using a 180 day schedule, rather than ending on June 9, 2020 which would be allowed by moving to an hours schedule. It was stated the the district simply “cannot afford to pay people who aren't working”. There would NOT be additional costs, as the budget already allots for these salaries to be paid. The vote was taken prematurely, without full discussion with the Unions, And without allowing for public discussion after releasing the full details of the research done.

We the undersigned, request the board reconsider this vote, and understand that the parents, children and teachers of Nashua have worked tirelessly these last 7 weeks on remote learning, and thus should end on June 9, 2020.
