The government of India provided 10% reservations for Economically Weaker Sections(EWS). All those having an annual income of less than 8 lakhs come under official definition of economically weaker. But, anyone having an annual income of over rupees 2.5 lakhs have to pay income tax. For instance, anyone having an annual income of rupees 7.5 lakhs come under economically weaker sections but taxed 20%.
Correct this anomaly Mr. Prime Minister. Please raise the IT slab to rupees 8 lakhs and exempt all those who come under economically weaker sections from Income Tax in the coming budget.
