Justice for 2 minor kerala girls in Palakkad district

The case surfaced in January 2017, when an 11-year-old girl's body was found by her nine-year-old sister in her house in a village in the Palakkad district. Two months later, the younger girl was also found dead in her home in similar circumstances.

Post-mortem reports for both victims showed signs of sexual abuse and the mother reportedly told police that she had witnessed one of the accused sexually abuse one of the girls.

Though the police arrested five persons, the accused were, however, let off last week by a court for want of evidence as the prosecution failed to prove the case against them.

The mother of the children alleged to local media that the accused walked free beacuse of party connections, specifically with the ruling CPI-M [Communist Party of India-Marxist].

Local legislator Shafi Parambil of the Congress slammed the government over the issue.

Now on 20th Nov 2019, Over a dozen KSU workers, along with Congress MLA Shafi Parambil & KSU state president KM Abhijith, suffered injuries in a clash with the police during their march to the state legislative assembly for demanding justice for the mysterious death of two minor Dalit siblings in Palakkad after being sexually exploited.

It has taken 2 years, still the issue is not yet solved. Sexual assualts & rape cases of women at every age is the major issue in the country currently starting from Nirbhaya case to till date. And the accused are let off without being punished. If a rape case takes this long to punish the accused, this will be continued and women will not get JUSTICE.

Being a woman, I am raising this petition to bring the change for getting justice immediately for such cases. Respecting women is no less than respecting your own country BHARATH MATHA
