In India everyone knows all about political interference in the transfer of honest officials, especially IAS and IPS officers’ transfer. When the officers perform their duties with integrity, they are immediately transferred to another place/department because they work for the common man rather than influential ruling politicians. If an honest officer is transferred in just a short tenure, it affects not only society and concerned department but also affects official’s personal life and family. India is a democratic country and in democracy people elects its Prime Minister, Chief Minister, MPs/MLAs through election.
I would like to suggest Government that officials' transfer should be based on their Report Card/Work Evaluation done by people.
Evaluation of Civil Servants’ work by the people: In this regard there is need of an Online/Offline system where people can give suggestions, feedback and evaluate works/facilities (at specific time) which are related to the public such as the construction of Roads, Electricity, Water System, Hospital, Law & Order etc. done/provided by their district officials DM, SP, SSP, CMO, CDO etc.
I believe if this idea get implemented by Govt. of India, not just society, but officials working in the country will change and it will encourage youth towards becoming a civil servant and serve the nation. Such systems will increase communication between the public and officials and also bring transparency in the functioning of government departments.
