We want more sleep because getting up at 4/5/6am is not good for kids our ages. We need more sleep. Advisory/independent time can be nap time and if you need to get work done then you can still do it then, but it's more for making sure kids get enough sleep to be able to perform at their best during the day. How are we supposed to learn and do good on tests if we're basically half asleep staring blankly at the board or chromebook? Not only that, but most kids don't get much sleep during the night. Some kids get 1-2 hours of sleep. For some, it's not in their control. Whether its insomnia or lots of homework to get done, it makes those kids not be able to get as much sleep as others might. Less sleep also impacts health overall.
