We, the undersigned, request that when taking the Oath of Office for a government official, The Bible be replaced with a copy of The Constitution. 

We need to remove connections with any type of religious dogma from our government. We need to make it very clear where we expect the allegiance of our leaders is: With the Constitution of the United States, not with any religion, group or individual. 

We recognize that many people have strong religious convictions, but we also feel that those religious convictions should be present in their homes, churches or temples and their behavior, not in our government ceremonies. 

It is therefore our wish that reference to any religion or group be eliminated from the awesome responsibility the oath of office entails. 

We ask that you create a bill that specifically designates that The United States Constitution be the sole document on which those who enter our government take their oath.
