Dakota Lieb started this petition to Representative Nancy Pelosi and

I do not have British Redcoats coming to my house knocking on my door to quarter my property. The amendment is outdated and unnecessary in our government to date. I only care because we are friends with the British and we do not need to worry about them exploring our houses to sleep. This change will be extra huge because we’d have to change an amendment and it can strengthen our relationship with the entire United Kingdom in the fight to bring peace to the world. My personal beliefs towards the third amendment have no relevancy but neither does the third amendment entirely because the Constitution of the United States was created in 1787 and it is now the year 2020 and we are no longer at war with Britain. My family feels safe to live and prosper without a law banning Redcoats from expanding into the territory. Without the amendment, we can acknowledge that we have moved forward as a country in full without looking back at our history and being dragged down by such. As a country, we thrive on taking the next step and if we have an amendment that makes absolutely zero sense in the world today, we will not be able to step away from the prejudice of the British Army of 1760-1790, but reunite each other with the reality of today. We are united as a world.
