The Fight Against Domestic Violence

The issue of domestic violence has plagued women all over the world for time immemorial. There have been several outcries against this inhumane act but it seems to get worse as the days go by. The need to instill strict punishment against this issue is of the essence. I will urge all of you to sign this petition to increase the sanctions imposed on perpetrators of domestic violence.

Several people in the United States have had their lives ruined or even lost their lives to gender-based violence. Yet, the rate of domestic violence constantly on the rise. There is a need to set examples and increase the punishment for this crime. I strongly believe that this will help curb the rate of domestic violence in the United States. 

At the moment, the punishment for domestic violence ranges between 2 to 4 years in prison and fines of $6,000 and above. This has clearly not curbed the rate of this issue. Some women are scared to speak up because the punishment doesn't seem to work and they might just find themselves in a worse situation than before. The need to increase the punishment for this crime is of the essence. I urge all of you to sign this petition and make the voices of women not only in the US but all over the world heard.
