Working Americans are forced to deal with the impact of Covid-19 on a daily basis. Even before the pandemic began we were all forced to work insane hours just to make ends meet.

Come October, if there is no new stimulus deal in place, the economic situation will only get worse. Thousands of airline and transit union members will be laid off adding to the unemployment rolls. This will compound issues in our basic infrastructure with more food shortages in grocery stores for longer periods of time and this is just one sector of the economy. Millions will not be able to pay rent and are already food insecure and by next month many could be homeless without the extra help from congress. Over 50% of unemployed Americans currently are unable to afford just the basic necessities of food and housing bills. 

Congress, on the other hand, continues to play games using working class Americans suffering as their leverage to get nothing done. All while repeatedly going on vacation every month and is currently scheduled to go on vacation later this month, AGAIN, even if they don't have a deal in place. This would be such a failure and devastating blow to Americans and the economy if Congress allows October 1st to come around without a new deal. 

It is time that congress realize the magnitude of the situation and refuse anymore recesses until a new Economic Stimulus package is agreed to and passed.
