The Covid-19 pandemic has left millions unemployed. The working class backbone of this nation has been subject to the brunt force of this crisis. They have been forced to rely on stimulus money from the government to make ends meet, but with the lack of action in congress many are struggling even to put food on the table for their families.

Despite this, these families are expected to somehow come up with enough money out of thin air to continue to meet the demands of their landlords. Rent payments loom over the heads of millions of Americans who no longer have the ability to pay. Instead of pushing these people needlessly into deeper debt, we must work to pass meaningful legislation to lift up our workers during their hour of need. We must cancel rent and debt payments until the end of this pandemic.

We the people call on Congress assembled to pass into law H.R.6515, which would suspend rent and mortgage payments on primary residences until thirty days following the end of the Covid-19 federal emergency declaration.
