cover the trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell
Kermit Barron Gosnell is an American doctor in Philadelphia who ran two multi-million dollar abortion practices. Gosnell was arrested in January 2011, charged with eight counts of murder, including one patient who died under his care after a botched abortion. A grand jury recommended charges of murder against Gosnell and several of his employees. The trial began on March 18, 2013, and is expected to last another month.
Recent testimony has found that at least 100 babies were born alive, and then had their spinal cords "snipped." It has also been recounted that anesthesia was not used, staff was unqualified and untrained, and that the doctor hit patients while performing procedures.
A Grand Jury report said the clinic was crawling with cats and reeking of animal urine and feces. Furniture and blankets were stained with blood and instruments were not properly sterilized. Disturbingly, the report alleged that fetal remains were stuffed into: 'cabinets, in the basement, in a freezer, in jars and bags and plastic jugs'.
The death penalty has been recommended in this case.
Due to the nature and the seriousness of the charges, we would like the Nancy Grace show to give this trial as much attention as it has done for others.
