As you may know, St Paul’s catholic college has made it so we must choose languages as one of our options for GCSE. Many many people do not wish to do languages and want the pathways back. This petition is for the people who want the pathways back and get rid of having to do spanish. 
For the few people that wish to keep this change, the school could easily add it to another pathway, instead of making everyone do something they hate. Me for example, I am awful at languages and I knew I wasn’t going to do it for GCSE but now I have no choice and will get the worst grades which will be super bad in the future. Since we didn’t previously know about this, me and my friends who hate languages haven’t been trying as hard as we could have, knowing we were able to drop out at GCSE and looking forward to it, so it is completely not fair on us who have planned ahead and not worked well enough and therefore don’t know as much about the subject as we could possibly know. 
In the future, this will not benefit in the fact we will get bad scores in our languages because we aren’t good enough when we could have easily done just a humanity and 2 creatives or 2 humanities and 1 creative, without having to do Spanish for no reason and go through torture every day.
Sing this petition if you agree and wish for the school to change their ways. Personally, I might even switch schools if they do this, because I think it is stupid and will most defiantly not benefit me in the future.
