COVID-19 has been a major obstacle that has been negatively affecting many students throughout the last few months. Our school's cut-off is at the end of June 5th, and it is approaching at a fast rate. With the self-isolation procedures and online-schooling, many students have been experiencing anxiety and stress due to the substantial change in our daily lives. Our school has amended its courses to make learning easier and stress-free, although some students may not feel that way because some courses have not gone that route.

Several disadvantages that some students experience, for example, students that are working essential jobs cannot always get their 3 hours a week per course, or students that are stressed because of bad situations at home, students who are disadvantaged due to the lack of technology they have at home, or simply students that are having trouble with their courses.

Bishop Carroll has not taken into consideration the stress that graduating students are under; adding to the stress of self-isolation and online studies, we also are not going to get the motivation to walk on stage in June in front of our families while reminiscing our last school years. This makes graduating students feel like they are totally disregarded in this cutoff.

Pushing the cutoff date to at least June 8th-10th would help all students who are struggling to finish their courses. Note that it took nearly three weeks for all courses to be online, the amount of time that students could not study because of the transition should be taken into consideration by the committee. All students can assure that we are still always working very hard although, pushing the cut-off date would be greatly appreciated and will aid the students to be successful.

Students who would like to advocate to extend the cut-off date to June 8th-June 10th sign this petition.
