The overwhelming majority of High Schooler’s feel that this policy is totalitarian and an overcompensation. We implore you to consider alternatives such as the ones proposed below:
- Having students submit their phones to the reception in the morning, coming down to get them when needed (with authorisation from teachers, both in class and at the reception);
- Having students submit their phones to their homeroom teachers- letting them use them in break and when otherwise needed;
- Allowing students to keep their phones, powered-off, in their bags, so that they do not ring in class and disturb learning.
If you do choose to stick with your original policy (a blanket ban), then we would implore you to revise your punishment to something more like a detention, instead of confiscating an extremely valuable devise for a ridiculous period.
