The oceans of the world are being filled up with pollution and people are overfishing. If we don't stop, it is said that jellyfish will fill our water, and seafood will be depleted by 2048.

Pollution means that you introduce a substance that has negative effects. Pollution is in our waters. Those waters provide fresh water, food, and most importantly, over half of the world's oxygen supply. 14 billion pounds of pollution is dumped into the ocean. And every year, over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 mammals are killed by pollution. 267 species are said to be affected, such as 84% of turtle species, 44% of all seabird species, and 43% of all marine mammal species. These animals die because of suffocation, infection, drowning, and entanglement of plastic. 48% of creatures have plastic in them. To stop pollution in the waters, don't use plastic water bottles. 60 million plastic bottles are used each day. When you throw them away, you create landfills and pollution in the ocean. To stop, use a metal water bottle. You can also recycle, so products can be reused and that creates fewer landfills and pollution.

Overfishing is when people fish too where the fish can't replicate enough. People overfish and kill creatures and leave them to die and fend for themselves without the proper things they need. Also, when people fish, they tend to get unwanted things. Some people, though, throw them back into the ocean, usually dead. These things are causing most animals to deplete in size. One example would be using shark's fins. People are overfishing sharks for food. One of the most gruesome is shark fin soup. People fish for sharks, cut off their fin's and throw them back in. Without their fins, the sharks die. An example of bycatch would be that 15 percent of the world's shark species are threatened with extinction. Young fish that are ready to breed to replicate and replenish are killed and cannot help their species. Hundreds of thousands of sea turtles, sea birds, whales, dolphins, porpoises, die as bycatch. As many as 200,000 loggerhead sea turtles and 50,000 leatherback sea turtles are caught annually. 80% of the ocean's largest parts of the ecosystem have died. If overfishing and bycatch continue, there might not be an ecosystem.

I am asking you to sign this petition to help save the lives of innocent animals and to help the ecosystem of the oceans to live and not have it die by overfishing, bycatch, and pollution. Will you sign this petition to help the cause of pollution and recycle and can you sign this petition to help our world become a better place?
