Here I am going to analyze the relevance of Mullaperiyar Decommission. I've gone through the UN University reports and have analysed the present scenerio of the dam as well as the state. As we all know , The Kerala Government has made a strong pitch in the supreme court to decommission the 126 years old " deteriorated " Mullaperiyar dam operated by Tamil Nadu and build a new one , saying climate change , erratic and heavy rainfall and floods make the spectre of catastrophe real and near

                                     Hence, Mullaperiyar dam can be considered as a ticking timebomb waiting to explode, not only because of it's antiquity but also because it is located on an acknowledged seismic zone.So as soon as possible the dam should be decommissioned,taken into account of the lives of millions.
