Maintain the mandatory mask mandate - Not optional.
Maintain the mandatory mask mandate - Not optional.
All parents/guardians received an email notifying that the Muscogee County Superintendent is currently considering making mask optional for grades K-12. We are concerned that this potential change will increase the number of COVID cases and therefore endanger the health of our children. With the rising number of positive COVID cases in Muscogee County, amongst kids and adults, in conjunction with the vary contagious OMICRON variant, now is NOT the time to loosen restrictions. Without an equivalent online experience option for kids that are not comfortable with the potential change, these children will receive a deficient education from Muscogee County School District. Also, please consider the back lash the kids continuing to wear the mask may receive. While we understand it is difficult to meet the demands of parents with different views, the health of all our children must come first. We are asking that the Muscogee County Superintendent vote NO to making the mask optional on January 14, 2022, effective January 18, 2022.
