Kerbside Recycling Collection In Jerilderie

Kerbside Recycling Collection In Jerilderie
I believe having the option to recycle in Jerilderie will be a very positive change. I love the little town of Jerilderie and would love to see us avoiding excess landfill, thus allowing future generations to enjoy this great town.
Did you know that about 91% of Australian households have access to kerbside recycling collection? Did you know that only 15% of waste cannot be recycled? And did you also know that less than 10% of plastic (virtually none), actually gets recycled? For every 10,000 tonnes of waste that goes to landfill, it's estimated that approximately 3 jobs are supported. If we were to recycle that same amount, we would be creating more than 9 jobs.
Waste management and reducing our carbon footprint is an ever growing task as we find new and innovative ways to reduse, reuse and recycle. I rest uneasily knowing that so much waste is going to landfill, just from this small town. I care deeply about my impact and want my waste to go where it's supposed to. Surrounding towns such as Finley, Tocumwal, Berrigan, Cobram, Barooga, Colleambally and Darlington Point all have kerbside recycling pickup and it's time for us to step up! By signing this petition requesting kerb side recycling in Jerilderie, you will be making a difference.
