When my family came into the Village of Monkton 20 years ago, we were told the Union Gas services were not an option until the village grew with more businesses. We now have a new arena with an upcoming daycare center, fire hall, new housing growth along with several large farming businesses, some being the largest in Perth County. 

Last year Union Gas pipe lines were added from Bornholm through Rostock to Milverton which only leaves the area from Bornholm to Newry without services. Adding lines through Monkton to connect these areas would help service the community better, reducing the carbon footprint from not using oil and propane (along with price reduction for villagers.) As well as improving our village making it more appealing for future growth.
