In Canada, citizens and permanent residents can apply for the health insurance which provides most of the basic healthcare services for free.

However, people have to wait a very long time to receive the required services. According to a Fraser Institute report on Wait Times for Health Care in Canada, 2019, the median wait time for medically necessary treatment in Canada is 20.9 weeks.

It is also an issue that other than the provided basic services, the healthcare system is very expensive, but is clearly under-performing.

This issue impacts all Canadians and immigrants living in Canada, but mostly impacts those who are in desperate need for medical help.

In 2018, the average cost per person waiting for medical care was $1,924 which makes it approximately $2.1 Billion for 1.08 million Canadians.

Long wait times and quality of healthcare can be a serious threat to patients who need emergent assistance or surgeries.

We believe that Canada’s healthcare system needs significant change.

The population is increasing each year as well as the wait times and concerns with the quality of service.

We need your help to reach our goal. Small things can make huge differences.
