Bhavna Dubey started this petition to Municipal corporation of India (Commissioner) and

I believe we all have asked this question before, With expeditious technological up-gradations and switching series of different so-called Smartphones and gadgets, We forget about the waste we are leaving behind us, especially all the plastic and silicon used in the cable wires as well as the alloy(copper, zinc, iron) inside, WASTED!

I’m not an environmentalist, but even as a common girl living in a small town, I do know What these cables and batteries can do if ditched unsupervised.

We, as 299.24 million people in India, who use mobile phones, create a large amount of technology junk that leaves behind bigfoot’s size carbon footprints. And at present the need for the hour is, a guide to smartly manage this waste, and who will be the guide, you ask?

The answer is YOUR LOCAL MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS!!!

So, please do a favour to mother nature and request the Municipal Corporation of India to make a specific department for discarded technological waste, and provide communal bins or exchange stores, so that we don’t have to dedicate a drawer to old, useless chargers and cables that we will NEVER USE! Or worse throw it in wet/dry waste bins without knowing how it may affect the environment.

Don't let these cables be a part of future generations' ancestral heirloom.

If you believe in a change that can help us come out of this tangled cable mess come aboard…

Thank you.
