Mumbai University Has a painful Undergraduate Admission Process which I had to endure along with other students the previous year. Its time to change that.

Firstly, University Forms called Pre-Admission enrollment forms are released by Mumbai University which are to be filled and submitted through an Online Portal. Fair Enough.(which is accesible by colleges) .

Secondly , Students have to take these forms and submit it to the colleges they want to take admission in. ALONG WITH A SEPARATE COLLEGE FORM.So that means going to each college , buying and filling their forms. Or in the case of Mithibai, Wilson or UPG, applying through their website.

There seems to be an unnecessary procedural step here. If we are filling up the forms to Mumbai University on a portal which is accessible by all colleges, why then submit another form? This makes the process hectic and tiresome as every college has a different procedure .Buying and filling 10 forms from colleges all over the city is not chill work at all Also, In a city as big as Mumbai ,colleges are pretty far off and going from one place to another is a pain for a student who wants to submit forms in a short period of time.

With the number of forms being filled one can easily make a mistake, like i did with my KC and Wilson forms. I submitted another one in KC but got unlucky  with Wilson. They just denied me admission over a mistake i made while filling the form.

The University of Mumbai should make the process Online and Centralized like the University of Delhi in order to reduce the confusion and burden of filling so many different college forms and making the job of the student easier.

In Delhi University a student just chooses all the courses he is interested in pursuing in the online portal After filling the form and Uploading the documents , the registration is over, and an acknowledgement slip and form number will be generated. Take the printout of the acknowledgement slip.

Once DU releases the first cut-off, students have to login through their registered ID and select the college in which they wish to get admission and secure admission by going there with their documents. And one has to pay their fees through an online portal. So easy.

Similarly, Mumbai University can already use their existing admission portal(which is already accessible by colleges)along with an option pay fees online to streamline admissions across the city and make the job of the student as well as the colleges easier.
