Question papers for 3 exams of Mumbai University were leaked because of the negligence of the University and because of a few irresponsible wrong students but 21000 students are affected by this.
Following the leak, the University has announced re-examination in all 3 subjects to be held on 14, 15 and 18th of June.
As the announcemnt was delayed from 31st May to 8th June, with lots and lots of rumors spreading everywhere and no fixed announcements being made.
This announement has resulted in a lot of mental stress, financial loss and several other indirect adverse impacts on more than 21,000 students.
We have been giving exams from 18th of May, and have given the practical examinations prior to that. The past month has been very hectic and many of us have had planned holidays after the exam was over, considering the short vacation periods.
With the announcement of the re-exams many of us have been forced to cancel our tickets. I myself faced fianancial loss of about Rs. 8,000 because of that. And its not just me, there are a few people on the facebook group who have lost about 25k+ INR because of the cancellations.
Now who is to blame for this ? I didnt leak, I didnt cheat. Just because of a bit irresponsibility of some people and some cheaters all of us have to face the problem.
Its wrong on the university's part to not conisder others who were serious about the exam.
Apart from the financial losses, we students have faced a lot of stress already, Physically and Mentally. And the further 3 papers again is gonan be more hectic and painful for everyone.
There will be 1000s of people there who studied the whole semester, didnt think/dream about the paper being leaked and gave the exam seriously and whole heartedly and are expecting good marks.
We as studetns feels that it is unfair to all the other people who were serious about the exam, didnt think about the leak and were not at all involved. People facing financial losses, physical stress, mental stress, trauma, lack of confidence and loads other problems because of the re-exams. And its not small, its pretty high.
So its a sincere request for the university to please reconsider the re-exam decision.
