Problem
MSVU faculty are the second lowest paid university faculty in Atlantic Canada, and MSVU has one of the highest disparities of full-time to contract faculty of all of Canada. Given how professors invest in academia, the Mount community, and students' educations, this is unacceptable.

The MSVU Faculty Association has been advocating for a fair and equitable contract that reflects the financial compensation, faculty complement, appropriate workload, and leaves necessary to best serve their students. Despite being financially able to do so, however, MSVU Adminstrations's negotiating team is refusing to meet the MSVUFA’s needs to ensure adequate compensation and working conditions for faculty and, in turn, a high-quality education and learning environment for students.

Solution
Faculty are the foundation of Mount Saint Vincent University—it is their hard work and dedication to their research and to their students that brings value to the Mount as an academic institution, and allows students to learn and obtain their degrees.

In order to provide students with the best education possible, faculty need to be supported with sufficient funds and resources

Students acknowledge and support the MSVU Faculty Association, and demand faculty are provided a fair and equitable contract that reflects the compensations, complement, workload, and leaves (i.e. parental, compassionate care, and victims of domestic violence) for which they are advocating.
