I would like the ACT government to review it’s decision to have all remote learning on line for term 2. Particularly in light of very low case numbers of covid-19 in the ACT, and what other States in Australia are doing. You are putting essential workers under considerable pressure with a remote on-line model, that doesn’t seem to adapt to changing circumstances, nor reflect how much pressure this places on vulnerable families.
Now is the time to re-open before winter sets in. And if not now, then when? There is no real room for rates to get lower. There is no direct evidence of community transmission and children's transmission rates are low. Online learning is variable across socio-economic groups and those that struggle will continue to fall further behind without specialised help. Learning is also about socialization and this is a difficult time for all.
I agree with the sentiment. I’ve heard from a lot of parents who are struggling. If this is to become the norm for next term then more support/help is needed if parents are expected to continue their child/children’s education. Thanks
