Play Sid Meier's Civilization (6) in History Classes
Why this petition matters
We want to learn history in a fun and interactive way. One way of achieving this is by playing the masterpiece that is Sid Meier's Civilization 6. It is an amazing strategy game that teaches about history and makes learning fun. It also encourages higher thinking and complex thought. It will teach us not only about history but also about preparing for the future. In the game, we can play as various leaders from different time periods, such as Teddy Roosevelt of America, Cleopatra of Egypt, Jadwiga of Poland, John Curtain of Australia, and many many more. Please.
In addition to just being a fun game, Civilization 6 is also historical. You can start in the real start locations of each civilization on a true to earth map, or do a random map. In the game, you can research different technologies to advance your civilization. There are also many different victories, those being: domination, science, religion, culture, and score. You can build wonders, get great people (scientists, artists, generals, prophets, etc.) and even found your own religions with special beliefs. Additionally, each leader has their own set of special abilities, units, and buildings, all of which correspond to their country of origin. For example, Jadwiga (from Poland) can build a Sukiennice, a special market in Poland and can train Winged Hussars, a special unit also from Polish history. There are also different AI difficulty modes so you can face very difficult opponents or easier ones (multiplayer also available.) With all of this in mind, your decision should already have been made. Thank you so much,
Daniel and Finn
P.S. We didn't do this in class if you were wondering.
