CREATE A NATIONAL AND WORLD-WIDE HOLIDAY HONORING OCTOBER 26 AS ARKHIPOV DAY (or World-Saving Day)

On October 26, a Soviet submarine naval officer -- Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov / Василий Александрович Архипов -- effectively blocked Kremlin orders that would have launched a nuclear missile at the United States during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which would have started nuclear war between the USSR and the US.

With all the nuclear-saber rattling lately, we definitely need our world saved from present and future nuclear proliferation and obliteration.

A holiday in America, in the Russian Federation and around the world would raise awareness of the increasing threat of world annihilation through nuclear conflict.  It would also complement the Nobel Peace Prize Committee's awarding of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize to International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) "for its work to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons and for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons".
