As a result of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) closing schools in South Carolina in March of 2019, students at the University of South Carolina in Columbia have been required to switch to online learning for a majority of courses.

In these uncertain times, we want the best for our students. Lockdown browsers require the student to show all corners of the room they are taking the test in, which invades the privacy of the student.

This also will make the student nervous, because you can't advert your eyes from the screen light burning your retinas, ultimately impacting the student's ability to focus and perform well on the exam.

One student in our class even said they would need to use a paper cutout of the Russian keyboard, even though you can literally have it up on the screen.

In these trying times, please allow the Russian 401 students at the University of South Carolina to take their exam in peace.

Thank you.
