Reinstate Ahnaf Taha as Co-Chair of The Masters School

On Monday, December 11th, 2017, Ahnaf Taha was removed as Co-Chair of Student Government at The Masters School. The key aspect of this position is in the name itself: "Student Government." Serving the interests and the goals of students above all. Chosen by our community to stand in front of us at each morning meeting and to run Executive Committee, to serve as the face and the heart of everything that's meaningful to us.

Ahnaf was elected to lead us because students believe in him. He has served with poise and dedication, bringing forward numerous proposals in Executive Committee and seriously engaging with students across the school. He is being removed for a mistake. A mistake that we, the undersigned, believe does not warrant his removal.

Ahnaf allowed a student to give a senior speech when he had been forbidden. Certainly he did not follow protocol, but what he did was not in any way an act of malice or scorn for the school's Administration. This is proven in his efforts every day since the incident to make amends, to apologize, and to prove his commitment to change. Ahnaf was democratically elected, and students deserve to have their voice heard on his removal.

In recognition of the need for Masters to act on massive student opinion, we commit to this petition.
