PETITION TO REINSTATE THE YEAR 13 LEAVERS’ CELEBRATION: BLUE COAT LIVERPOOL
Why this petition matters
We, the Year 13 students of Blue Coat would like to see the Sixth Form Leavers’ Celebration Evening reinstated. This petition comes to light in the wake of the July 5th announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson to lift Covid restrictions on July 19th.
The Year 13 ‘class of 2021’ students have had to endure an unprecedented level of disruption over the last 18 months of our long educational journey. An immeasurable degree of social and mental anxiety has been placed on the shoulders of all Year 13 students during an historical period of disturbance. Notwithstanding the obvious stress induced by exam grade uncertainty, we have also been denied key moments of personal development as we enter the adult world.
All we are asking is for the reinstatement of the Celebration Evening, which was originally planned for July 14th. We would like nothing more than for this event to be moved back five days to July 19th, or even to early September.
This should be an evening that we remember for the rest of our lives. It will be the one last chance to say a proper farewell to our friends after the journey we have been through together. Please do not deny us this opportunity.
