Iniciamos esta petición para hacerle un pedido a las Naciones Unidas y las organizaciones de derechos humanos. Es urgente que creen una comisión de investigación para evaluar la situación caótica que viven los inmigrantes haitianos en República Dominicana al no permitirles entrar a hospitales públicos, es una violación abierta a sus derechos de salud.

The Haitian community woke up to the shock of Knowing that the Dominican president  Sir Luis Abinader has formally prohibited access to hospitals for illegal people, particularly Haitians.

This ban is part of fierce persecution of the government since the arrival to power of Luis Abinader to reduce the number of Haitians living illegally in the Dominican Republic.

As a result of this ban, hundreds of pregnant women are denied access to various hospitals in the country. Some of them are forced to give birth, while others have passed from life to death on the floor of hospitals, dying under the passive gaze of health care personal.

According to the Hippocratic Oath, these health professionals have sworn to respect all persons, their autonomy, and their will without discrimination.
Here is an extract from the Hippocratic Oath

I promise and swear to be faithful to the laws of honor and probity in the practice of medicine. I will respect all persons, their autonomy, and their will, without discrimination.

I will intervene to protect them if they are vulnerable or threatened in their integrity or dignity. Even under duress, I will not use my knowledge against the laws of humanity.

I will inform patients of the decisions being considered, the reasons for them, and their consequences.

I will never mislead their trust. I will give my care to the needy and I will not demand a salary above my work.

I will keep the secrets entrusted to me privately and my conduct will not serve to corrupt morals. I will do everything to relieve suffering.

I will not unreasonably prolong life or deliberately cause death. I will preserve the necessary independence and will not undertake anything beyond my competence. I will perfect my knowledge to ensure the best of my mission.

May men esteem me if I am faithful to my promises. May I be shamed and despised if I fail to do so.

This situation is becoming embarrassing in the Dominican society because there is a group that is for and another group that is against this decision that affects the rights to health.

We have never seen anything like this even in a war zone, where bloodthirsty rebels give access to health workers to treat the sicks. I believe that this is an act of barbarism coming from a president.

1. 
   If you are a black tourist coming from other countries, make sure you always have your document otherwise you will lose your life in deplorable conditions in the Dominican Republic.
2. 
   If you are traveling alone, make sure you have a copy of your travel document, if you get sick, no one will take your case into consideration in the hospitals if you do not present your document.
3. 
   As a tourist in the Dominican Republic, never talk about Haiti/Dominican Republic relations because there are Nationalist Luicistas everywhere who are very aggressive when talking about Haitians or Haiti. These topics can put your life in danger in the Dominican Republic.
   
   We ask the international community, UN, and human rights organizations to set up a commission of inquiry to evaluate the chaotic situation that these Haitian immigrants are living in the Dominican Republic because it is an open violation of their health rights.
