It is hard to believe such inhumane treatment in what we claim to be a civilized society. It is not only what this does to the prisoner, but to the warden as well. He degrades his own humanity.

As in the case of the guillotine, is it not time to do away with archaic and inhuman practices?

I cannot understand how one human being can withhold books and music from another, especially one who has been oppressed and outcast for so many years. Have we lost all humanity?

Removing books and music from prisoners is like putting their brains in a little tiny box in another cell and then saying, "No, you can't have access to your emotions or your creativity or your curiosity." How can you do that to anyone and live with yourself?

To deny inmates their books and music is callous and shameful. Where is the humanity here?

This is not justice. The treatment these prisoners receive is inhumane and disgusting.
