Increase the number of footbridges in Indian Railway Stations

In 2016, 1798 fatalities occurred in Mumbai alone involving people trying to cross railway tracks to reach other platforms. In Pune, the number was around 350. For the whole India, the number is around 15000 per year. One of the main reasons for why people cross the railway tracks to go to other platforms is having insufficient number of footbridges in the railway stations. Either the footbridges are too distant or insufficient in number, that it takes a lot of time and distance to go to other platforms. if we increase the footbridges in the railway stations, then it will encourage people to use those bridges instead of crossing the tracks and this in turn will save their lives.

This petition requests the Railway Minister of India to consider how we can add additional footbridges in the railway stations to tackle this issue.
