Woodglen school Mar 14th walkout - no detention!

Hello, I am Stan Popov, father of a 7th grade Woodglen student. My daughter wrote a very respectful letter to school's administration asking to be allowed to participate in National School Walkout to protest gun violence in schools scheduled to occur on March 14th at 10 am (read more about this here - http://time.com/5165794/student-protests-walkouts-florida-school-shooting/ ) . The response she received was ambiguous to say the least - "we fully support you in this endeavor, but if you do it you will get a two-hour detention, and so will anyone else who would do it". Speaking to parents in other parts of the state and reading national news, I happen to know that there are multiple schools both in New Jersey and nationwide that actually FULLY SUPPORT this activity, providing oversight and organization so that students can express their outrage with the current gun control situation in a safe and controlled manner.
I am asking both students and parents to sign this petition so that we can afford our children a right to participate in this event without detention, if nothing else, or better yet to have school's administration take a leadership position and help our future leaders to add their voices to this nationwide cry of outrage.
Thank you in advance,
Stan, Jeannie and Lillie Popov
