Brentwood High School is a place many students go to escape from a toxic environment. Many students rely on breakfast and lunch meal plans. Studies show that during quarantine depression and anxiety is rising among teens. Many students do not like online learning and to mention students rarely learn or get the same type of education. Also, students are cheating their way out online. Students who work very hard just to get 'P' as a "grade" just like the student who doesn't put the same effort is not fair. Staring at a screen for hours is not healthy for your eyes, and to mention mental health is very important during this time. As long students keep their masks on and social distance when they can it shouldn't be a problem and students with medical conditions could wear a face shield. We are high schoolers, teenagers, we understand why we should keep it on. Medical workers wearing layers of PPE for 12 hours straight without a problem, so it shouldn't be one for students wearing a face shield or mask for 8. Students want to go back to school and as long we follow the guidelines then we should be fine. School should be a place where you're allowed to call your second home, a place where you can forget what's going on in your personal life and distract yourself. Open the school! Enforce the new rules!
