Let’s create a soccer team for Castlecomer Community School to give students who are interested in sports but not gaa or basketball a more universally friendly sport and negate the old stereotype of Irish schools allowing only gaa. This is a community school and I can’t see many in the local community that would have any hostile agenda against the creation of a soccer team. I’m sure members of faculty would also be throwing names forward to get involved in co curricular sports and activities. As I understand compilations may arise in making this dream of many students a reality it is clear the school does not have any soccer facilities but with the purchase of 2 goals and a few soccer balls the gaa pitches can be used this doesn’t scream professionalism from a stander-byes point of view but after all we are a community school and the creation of this petition I hope will spark the minds of others around and relying on my projects success make a statement that shows there is always a way to get things done if u put your heart and mind into it and of course compliments the school showing it listening to its pupils and representing our get up and go attitude that will not just make us strong willed force to be reckoned with on the pitch with all the community’s talent but also be a statement of strength for the community of castlecomer and the surrounding area.
