Mel Coleman served as a coach, teacher, mentor, and leader at Wintersville High School.  He impacted 10,000s of lives, and his work should be memorialized by Indian Creek School District.  As former Wintersville Warriors, we are reaching out to the community and WARRIOR NATION asking for support to have Coach Coleman recognized for his significant contributions. Coach Coleman coached at Wintersville from 1975- 1990, his overall record 247- 154, OVAC Champs 1984 and 1990, OVAC Coach of the Year 1982, Dapper Dan Outstanding Achievement 1983, Sectional  Champs 1982,1983 and 1984, 1985 and 1989, District Champs 1982-1984, District 5 AAA Coach of the year 1980,1982,1983,1984 and 1985, Eastern AAA Coach of the year 1982, Coach for District 5 All Star Game 1979 and 1981, Coach for OVAC All Star Classic 1980,1982,1984,1986 and 1990.

During this era Warrior Nation created a movement with the Rowdy’s…They were definitely a scare for our rivals… they rocked the gym EVERY HOME GAME.

Mr. Coleman took many of us under his wing and set many of us up for future success.    Let's honor his amazing contributions to Warrior Nation!
