We demand that Savills withdraw from all consultancy work with Local Authorities. Why should Local Authorities pay Savills to tell them council housing is worthless? Lambeth are the latest council to announce they are hiring Savills to do a 'stock condition survey'.

Previous surveys by Savills have declared swathes of council housing to have a zero or negative value, disregarding the value of these properties to the communities who live in them and the impact to the environment of tearing down buildings instead of refurbishing them. Their surveys are full of contradictions - they support building new homes which cost hundreds of thousands of pounds but claim that spending tens of thousands on upgrading existing homes is too much.

The real agenda of these so-called "valuations" seems to be about justifying the demolition of council estates thereby opening up prime council land for private developments and profiteering - by the kind of investors who hold shares in Savills. This sounds like a scam! We are demanding that Savills get their hands off our housing.
