Stop Kejriwal's plan to let women ride for free on DTC & Metro

Stop Kejriwal's plan to let women ride for free on DTC & Metro

As a lawful resident of Delhi, the following are my reasons for placing this demand:
1) This proposition is clearly a vote-bank strategy. During the Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party had stooped down enough to have promised 85% reservation for Delhi residents in Delhi University, an institution whose strength lies in its acceptance of meritorious students from all over the country. In a similar fashion, the follow-up to the Delhi legislative election this year then, this proposed freebie in the lead-up to the Delhi legislative election this year, is an attempt by Kejriwal's party to appease women voters of Delhi.
2) The plan is anti-equality, as a person's gender alone shouldn't decide their privileges. The entitlement rhetoric being used by Kejriwal in this case is an extension of the identity-politics-led ideology prevalent throughout the world today, wherein the tag of the 'oppressed' group is used to avail free services without having to work hard for them.
3) Kejriwal has himself stated that the plan would bear a cost of about Rs. 700 crore if implemented. Kindly bear in mind that it is our public tax money that shall be used for the same.
