K-12 – A PROMISE OF SUCCESS?

It’s been three months now since the Grade 12 students of Nueva Ecija Senior High School hoped and waited for the completion of a promise of laboratory and its equipments needed for the advancement of our research and experimental studies especially for our physics and chemistry subjects.
At first we saw some initiatives of the project but things have stalled as we are writing this appeal today. We fear that we may not see the end of this project. We desperately need this laboratory tools to aid us in our research studies. They say that the K-12 curriculum advances and prepares students to the rigors of college education. But how can it be if we the soon to be the first graduates of K-12 program were ill-equipped to pursue our chosen fields of profession.
At present we conduct our experiments using some improvisations reminded by our teachers to be wary and cautious whenever we are required to do so. But accidents occur anytime and what if we are in an unsafe and unsecure surrounding. Worth noting is the incident that happened on March 11, 2017 where students and school personnel of Manila Science High School were exposed to mercury at the chemistry laboratory.
Year-end is fast approaching, we appeal and respectfully submit this petition to our school authorities, particularly to our good School Principal Mr. Johnny P. Bacani to expedite and finished this project the soonest possible time so that we can conduct our required experiments safely and in a secured premises.
