On the 19th September, two girls staged a peaceful protest in George Square, Glasgow. Of course, that is only true if you are willing to accept flying a saltire in Scotland as protesting.
They were spat at, abused and threatened by Unionists, but rather than being taken to safety for their protection, they were instead arrested and spent the evening in the cells.
The police claimed they couldn't be released because they believed they might go back to resume their protest and risk being assaulted. This would put the police in danger trying to protect them.
The girls, rather than receiving a public apology and compensation from the Police, are instead waiting in case they have to go to court and face charges of 'obstructing the police'.
Please show your support for these girls to receive a public apology from Police Scotland and for the Procurator Fiscal to immediately drop all charges and exonerate these brave girls.
