Fayette County Student Body started this petition to Mr.Allen Lenord and

The dress code around the Fayette County school mainly targets girls and not boys. We are now in an age where girls wear more things to express them selves from tang tops, to skirts, and ripped jeans. Some rules are understandable but others are a problem that needs to be solved. Many girls have longer arms  or legs, so should the mid thigh rule still apply to them, and is it still fair that shorter girls get to wear whatever they want because they are short? We believe that the Fayette County schools should give all girls shorts an extra two inches off, allow girls to wear noodle straps, and allow mid- crop tops and ripped jeans. If we are to distracting to the boys then the boys are the problem. Why do they get to wear shorter shorts than some of us and why are the girls dress code more heavily enforced then the guys dress code. Onto the topic of being distracting, It's not our fault that guys are distracted and it's not our job to keep them from being distracted. No matter what we wear the guys at our school will still size us up, talk about us, etc... they are guys. Male staff should not be allowed to Dress code girls as well, no matter there position. It is uncomfortable and alarming when male teachers dress Code us. If we are a nation that symbolizes freedom and we have women's rights, why are we still being subjugated to a mans whims on whether a girl is "distracting" or not? Every person who has signed this petition believes in every word written in this paragraph and we want our Dress code changed appropriately. It's about time women stopped being the face of shame due to a man.
