Pile driving for the North Kent wind project has destroyed 16 water wells . Samsung-Pattern Energy deny causing the problem even though wells are impacted hours to a few days once construction begins . Ontario's - Ministry of Enviroment and Climate Change , Ministry of Energy , Ministry of Natural Resources , and local Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the department of Public Health side with the wind farm corporation . Toxic Heavy metal sediment found in Kettle Point Black Shale is fouling the wells . The geology of this area is sensitive , and the area where the Otter Creek project shares the same criteria . The turbines to be built in the Otter Creek project are the largest in Canada 643 ft tall ( bigger than the pyramids in Egypt ) . They will be erected within 1.5 kms of an elementary school and a nursing home . This area is on the pathway of migratory birds and is hometo 24 at risk species . These E141 Enercon turbines are untested , and any findings are from a computer generated model . All restriction are based on the smaller turbines .
