There is currently construction work going on at 36 New Road Melbourn, despite places only meant to be open due to 'essential work' this has continued. The noise is absolutely horrendous, even with the windows closed. This is not fair on those currently stuck in isolation and not allowed to go out, especially people like mysef who are classed as high risk. How are people working from home supposed to concentrate with the racket? The dust coming over is also not good for people's health. Despite texts from government saying going out in the garden and get fresh air, this is not possible, even on a nice sunny day. 

I do not believe this work is essential nor urgent as no one is going to be buying houses in the near future. Quite clearly there has been no consideration taken for those in the surrounding area as to the impact this is having and no response to complaints.

Being able to clearly see, there has also been no 2m distance rules enforced, builders working extremely close together. I am not sure what deems them different from anyone else in the country or does the government believe construction workers are safe from Coronavirus.

For our sanity and the safety of those on site I believe this construction site should be closed down until everything else is up and running again.
