Marlene J started this petition to MP's and UK Government and
I visited a local hospital treatment centre on City road in Winston green Birmingham and was shocked to see the use of self service check-ins and only one staff member rushed off her feet. The queue was from the desk to the door while the stressed lady tried to support 4 different elderly people in using the machines to verify their attendance to there appointments and then read instructions to find their way to the desired waiting point. It was disgusting! It is bad enough that these machines are taking over supermarkets and we are serving ourselves for free but to see them in a hospital and hear that they have had many staffing cuts due to this is diabolical and ridiculous now and something needs to change. The machines are not a problem if there is a sufficient amount of humans also available but they are no comparison to humanity and the natural care and communication that some of us need to receive, especially the elderly and disabled, 'for God's sake in a hospital!' Please sign this if you agree that this needs to change.

Reduce the machines and decrease cuts on staffing. Bring back valuable staff members to put some care back into the community and carry out the jobs that they have been trained to do.

I was saddened to see this, I looked at some of the patients and they were scared and lost this should never be the case in a hospital, it should be a caring environment and I would be sad to see my Nan in that queue confused and also on her feet waiting around whilst unwell because no one is available to assist or reassure her. I would also hate to be the one staff member supporting a line of patients that can't work the new technology, it's unfair and inhumane.
