Petition Closed

The citizens of North Carolina have taken the extraordinary step to let homosexual men and women of their state know that they are second class citizens by voting to create and amendment to their constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman. A constitution is meant to preserve the rights of all people, not take them away.

The Democratic Party Platform includes:

"Removing the barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding that still exist in America. We support the full inclusion of all families, including same-sex couples, in the life of our nation, and support equal responsibility, benefits, and protections."

With this in mind, and supporting your own platform, we ask that you put the morals and integrity of the party above any political points that may or may not be scored by holding your convention in a swing state and move it to a city and state more aligned with the party and it's values.
