The Mentor High School or Mentor School District should go online at least temporarily to avoid the spread of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Omicron variant. There have been no mandates for vaccination or testing in the district, making the risk of transmission even higher.

From anecdotal evidence, many students and teachers feel unsafe at school indoors with several groups of 20-40 students in a classroom 5 days a week. Although there is a remote learning alternative for K-6, courses for many students aren't offered and this is just for K-6. This petition is an informal way of collecting more quantifiable evidence and can be used to supplement the case for online learning.
