Currently nursing students at Mount Carmel College of Nursing on the OB/Labor and Delivery clinical rounds are not allowed in the labor and delivery room. We are forced to watch videos instead of a attending a live birth. We are also not given and financial reimbursement or compensation for the fact that our clinical has been changed around. Us as students are desperate to learn and get the experience we need before applying for jobs. This is crucial in our training as labor and delivery nurses.  We are also not getting any communication from the college about anything. We are afraid that we will go our entire OB/Labor and Delivery clinical and our entire 4 years as nursing students without seeing a live birth or a c-section delivery. Most of us use these clinical rounds to help decide what kind of nurse we want to be for the rest of our lives, that’s kind of hard to do virtually. Help nursing students at Mount Carmel College of Nursing get back into the labor room so we can be better nurses!
