Mt Barker Skatepark has a lot of flaws that a lot of local riders would kill to have built in for us a couple of them being a resurface of the concrete, the concrete is almost a cheese grater, and when it rains, it stays wet for hours on end. It would be great to have a re surface with concrete similar too skateparks such as Strathalbyn, Oaklands and Hallet Cove. Another issue is the minimal light we have when it’s dark, a few bright lights at the skatepark would be great, giving us the opportunity to ride when it’s dark as not all of us have time to come during the day. The last is the shelter/ drainage system, the barker weather is not always great, so when it rains we have no choice but to stay home, a shelter or drainage system in bowl would make a huge difference for all of us.
