Mothers' open letter to the Iranian government: Free Nazanin
0 have signed. Let’s get to 15,000.
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a 38 year old mother and charity worker from London, was detained in Iran while on a family holiday and separated from her 2 year old daughter, Gabriella. She was sentenced to five years in jail. Her family still don't know why she's being held.
As mothers from across the UK we've started this open letter to help reunite Nazanin with her young daughter Gabriella - an unimaginable situation which no mother should ever have to bear. Please add your voice today and help bring Nazanin home.
This open letter will be delivered to the Iranian embassy and published in the press.

An open letter to his Excellency, Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei
We, the undersigned - mothers from across the UK - are writing to ask for your help in the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, detained in Tehran since April 2016, so that she can be reunited with her family in the UK.
As mothers we all share a common bond with Nazanin and we feel an intense sense of despair that she should be separated from her beloved young daughter for so long. We are all mothers and feel compelled to ask for your consideration and kindness with regard to Nazanin.
We know that Nazanin’s health, both emotionally and physically continues to decline in Evin prison, and this is surely due to the extended separation she is experiencing from her husband and daughter.
We also know that Nazanin’s family is suffering immensely from her absence.
As the days have become weeks and months, the familiarity of having a wife by his side is becoming more distant to her husband Richard, whilst her daughter Gabriella is too young to understand why her mother is not reading to her, putting her to bed and cuddling her, missing the care of her mother and father this past 18 months.
Nazanin has also expressed concerns for her fellow prisoners, many are also mothers suffering from the same unbearable extended separation from their children and loved ones.
The good wishes of the local and global community to the families have brought much solace and relief, and this is why we feel compelled to address you today. As a father and religious leader, you will understand the depth of compassion and pain this story has caused.
We know Iran to be a place of respect for motherhood as well as a country that celebrates family values. In this spirit we ask you kindly to consider Nazanin’s case with benevolence and humanity.
It is in this spirit that we write to you today, to show the world all that Iran stands for and to extend the hand of friendship for the good of common humanity which should link us all across the globe, all the more in uncertain times.
We therefore ask you to look favourably on Nazanin’s suffering so she might be reunited with her daughter and husband this year.
